Lidcombe Program

The Lidcombe Program is an established, effective treatment for early stuttering. It was developed for preschool-age children but school-age children can respond too. Parents are trained to elicit and reinforce stutter-free speech as well as to practice this such that it generalises into everyday communication. Read more.

The Westmead Program can be suitable for early stuttering. A temporary alteration to the child’s speech pattern (with syllable-timed speech) is used to build stutter-free speech. Read more.
